The University for Continuing Education Krems, as a partner of the European project,  AI4Gov-X, offers eligible participants the opportunity to apply for financial support under the Cascade Funding Scheme under Objective 1.

This funding programme aims to reduce financial barriers to participation in recognised extracurricular AI4Gov-X activities by reimbursing part of the eligible participation costs—including registration fees, travel expenses, and accommodation costs—in accordance with the provisions and conditions of the official call.

Please note the application process and deadlines described below.

Step 1 - Apply for the Programme

Participants must first complete the registration and application process for the programme.

Step 2 – Receive Confirmation of Participation

After the application has been reviewed, accepted participants will receive an official confirmation of participation. This confirmation is required for the application under the AI4Gov-X Cascade Funding Scheme (Objective 1).

Step 3 – Submit the Funding Application Under the Cascade Call (Objective 1)

Before incurring any eligible expenses, participants must submit their application through the GoodGrants Platform under the AI4Gov-X Cascade Funding Scheme.

Important: According to the funding rules, only expenses incurred after the date the funding application is submitted are eligible for reimbursement.

Therefore, participants must submit their funding application before paying registration fees, travel costs, accommodation expenses, or any other related costs.

Step 4 – Make the Payments

After submitting the funding application, participants may proceed with:

  • Paying the participation fee,
  • Booking travel,
  • Booking accommodation,
  • Paying other eligible expenses.

All invoices, payment receipts, and supporting documentation must be carefully retained.

Step 5 – Participate in the Programme

Participants must complete the programme.

Step 6 – Submit Documentation for Reimbursement

After completing the programme, selected grant recipients may be asked to submit:

  • Proof of participation and/or successful completion,
  • Invoices and receipts,
  • Proof of payment,
  • Any additional reporting and supporting documents requested by POLI.design (the coordinator of the AI4Gov project).

Step 7 – Reimbursement

Grant payments are generally made by POLI.design after:

  • Successful completion of the programme,
  • Approval of the recipient’s final report,
  • Review and approval of the cost statement and all required supporting documentation.

Important Notice

Submitting an application under the Cascade Call does not automatically guarantee funding. Applications are evaluated collectively after each submission deadline based on the official assessment criteria of the call. Interested applicants are therefore strongly encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible before the relevant deadline.

Deadlines

The call is open from 1 May 2026 and has the following submission deadlines (cut-off dates), each at 23:59 Brussels time:

  • 30 June 2026 (AI Bootcamp)
  • 31 August 2026 (Public Sector AI Lab)
