The Global Futures Lab hosts a distinguished group of guest professors whose expertise strengthens its transdisciplinary research on complex societal and environmental challenges. These include Prof. Martin Bertau (TU Bergakademie Freiberg), whose work in chemical technology and sustainable resource systems contributes to research on raw materials and circular resource strategies; Prof. Manfred Laubichler (Arizona State University and the Santa Fe Institute), whose research in complexity science and biosocial systems supports the Lab’s systems-oriented approach to understanding societal and ecological transformations.
Prof. Michael Obersteiner (University of Oxford), Director of the Environmental Change Institute, who brings expertise in global change, sustainability, and environmental governance; Prof. Eva Schernhammer (Medical University of Vienna and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health), an internationally recognized epidemiologist whose work connects global health, environmental exposures, and societal transformations; and Prof. Susanne Strohmaier (Medical University of Vienna), whose research in epidemiology, biostatistics, and population health enriches the Lab's perspective on health, sustainability, and societal resilience.
