From 26–29 August 2026, Athens will host the 32nd Annual Meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA). Under the motto “Resonant Pasts,” the conference explores how the material traces of bygone eras can be revitalized through research and meaningful public engagement.

The EAA is the leading association for archaeologists in Europe and beyond. With more than 12,000 members from 120 countries, it provides a dynamic platform for exchange on research, heritage management, ethics, and the latest developments in archaeology. The Annual Meetings are the highlight of the year, bringing together international expertise with local perspectives.

The programme of the 2026 Annual Meeting spans a wide spectrum of topics – from museums and cultural heritage in times of “permacrisis” to digital and interdisciplinary approaches, human–environment interactions, material culture, and new perspectives on the Mediterranean region.
