Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner took over the opening of the division “Film” of the Archives of Contemporary Arts at an evening for and with Peter Patzak on October 23rd, after Friedrich Faulhammer, Rector of Danube University Krems, welcomed and Christine Rigler, Head of the Archives of Contemporary Arts, made introductory comments.

The archive’s collection was expanded with the pre-mortem bequest of the internationally successful filmmaker Peter Patzak comprising: scripts, films, production material such as shooting schedule, set plans and casting documents, correspondences, photographs, film posters as well as receptions documents reaching from 1967 to 2010.

Peter Patzak said "a big thank you that I have found a place and a home here with these documents I have collected over fifty years". When he received the offer to provide the material to the Archives of Contemporary Arts, he did not hesitate a second.

Subsequently to a film screening of selected sequences of Patzak’s film “Im Kreis der Iris” the filmmaker gave insights into his extensive oeuvre in an interview with media scientist Karin Moser.
