regioWERKSTATT: The Hackathon for regional Innovation

For a shared, livable, and sustainable future in Lower Austria and Burgenland.

At the regioWERKSTATT Hackathon, students, alumni, companies, citizens, and public administration work together to develop innovative business and product ideas for real challenges from the region.

What is a Hackathon?

A hackathon is a time-limited event format in which teams work on specific challenges and develop initial ideas, concepts, or solution approaches within a short period of time.

The focus is on:

  • collaborative work on real-world challenges
  • rapid development and testing of ideas
  • exchange between diverse perspectives

At the end of the event, teams present their results.

  • students and graduates
  • people from companies and organizations
  • employees from public administration and institutions
  • engaged citizens interested in regional development

No prior experience is required.

  • real challenges from the region
  • opportunity to participate in exclusive knowledge sessions (“Deep Dives”)
  • guidance from experts and coaches
  • development of business or product ideas in teams
