Instead of "dense" surfaces, future forest roads are to be constructed with surfaces capable of infiltration - i.e. with water-permeable surface and base layers (retentive paths), which can therefore make a successful contribution to the rainwater management of the protection forests and adjoining settlement areas or cultural landscapes. The rainwater should not be diverted out of the forest, but rather stored on site and allowed to evaporate, thus improving the water balance of the protection forests.
