Univ.-Prof. Mag. Mag. Dr. Daniel Varro, LL.M. is Vice Rector for Financial Affairs and Sustainable Development at the University for Continuing Education Krems. On February 28, 2025, he was unanimously elected Vice Rector by the University Council, with effect from August 1, 2025.

Varro was appointed University Professor of Tax Law and Sustainable Tax Policy at the Department for Legal Studies and International Relations at the University for Continuing Education Krems in 2022.

After completing his studies in law (University of Vienna) and business administration (WU Vienna) and obtaining a Master of Laws (LL.M., University of Liechtenstein), Daniel Varro worked at the Institute for Financial Law at the University of Vienna and as a lawyer. He then moved to the Federal Chancellery as economic policy advisor to the Federal Chancellor and subsequently to the Ministry of Finance. In addition to numerous publications in the field of financial law, contributing to legal commentaries on tax law, and editing financial law journals, Daniel Varro serves as a supervisory board member of the Innovation Foundation for Education of the Republic of Austria, a member of the board of trustees of the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS), and a member of the board of the Association of Austrian Business Academics. In addition to his extensive teaching activities at the University for Continuing Education Krems in the field of tax law and his research in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship, he is a guest lecturer at several universities in Austria and abroad.
