Universities and high schools in Vienna, Lower Austria and Upper Austria have united to form a network – the “Dual Career Service of Vienna – Lower Austria – Upper Austria” - that offers support for newly appointed professors and their partners in their new job and living situation, as well as a wide range of services. The Dual Career Service provides practical information about required formalities (arrival, registration), ranging from child care to postgraduate courses, and assists the partner of Dual Career couples in finding a suitable job. Furthermore, the service cooperates with the Dual Career Service Support of WWTF and other institutions such as AMS (State Employment Office) and the Regional School Inspectors for Lower Austria and Upper Austria.
Services offered by the Dual Career Service for Vienna – Lower Austria – Upper Austria:
- University network offering contact to other universities in the network and rapid flow of information regarding jobs, kindergarten seats, PE seminars, family service offices, etc. with members of the Dual Career Service
- Individual and personal advice for professors and/or their partners
- Extensive web platform with information about living, accommodation, work, and social matters in Vienna, Lower Austria and Upper Austria
- Providing contact with the Dual Career Service Support WWTF and other cooperation partners

- Support for spouses in double career partnerships in looking for employment and in coping with the diverse challenges of new life situations
- Support in career development while ensuring the compatibility of job and family
- Recruitment of excellent scientists
- Enhancing the family-friendly aspects of universities and the attractiveness for employers
- Positive image and internationalization of the university sites in Vienna, Lower Austria and Upper Austria
