Open Government Data Standardization

Description

Standardized Metadata are a precondition to efficiently operate a data portal. The Austrian Chancellery initiated a work group which set out the goal to standardize metadata descriptions in Austria to increase interopeability and re-use. International good practice has been incorporated into the recommendations and has been harmonized with similar efforts in German speaking countries. A comparison of the harmonized metadata descriptions is available as https://www.data.gv.at/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Gegenueberstellung_MDS_DACH.pdf and the agreed recommendations are available for download from http://reference.e-government.gv.at/Open-Government-Data.2771.0.htm
