Description
For many years, the “FROG - Future and Reality of Gaming” conference has been a central meeting point for scientists, educators, game developers and practitioners who deal with the social significance of digital games. In 2025, the conference will focus on the topic of esports in the context of youth media work and education. In terms of content, it thus ties in directly with the Erasmus+ project ESPORTS - Esports Professions and Opportunities: Resources and Training for Success and creates a transdisciplinary space for exchange, reflection and further development. A special focus is placed on the pedagogical dimensions of today's gaming culture, in particular the opportunities and challenges for youth work. In addition to a main academic track on ESports, the conference also offers a side track with game studies perspectives on youth media work - including topics such as gamification, digital identities and ethics in games.
