1ST PHYSICAL MEETING OF THE PARTNERSHIP

The first face-to-face meeting of the partner organisations during the joint project work took place in October 2021 at the premises of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to define the next steps and milestones in the preparation of the online course and the Summer University Concept.

MULTIPLIER EVENT IN BRUSSELS

As part of the project, the University for Continuing Education Krems and its partner CNR-ISAC organised the multiplier event 'CLIMATE CHANGE - Threats to Cultural Heritage and Security' at the headquarters of the European Association of Development Agencies (EURADA) in Brussels.

SUMMER UNIVERSITY CONCEPT

The Summer University Concept is a tested and evaluated concept for a transdisciplinary Summer University on Cultural Landscapes in Climate Change. It can be adapted to any cultural landscape and built heritage in Europe, in any climate zone and with the specific risks of climate change. What is special about this concept is that it brings together different disciplines and their knowledge for a hybrid, practice-oriented teaching at university level.

The concept has been developed to complement the CHePiCC online course: A face-to-face course is followed by an extensive online self-study phase. There is a strong emphasis on hands-on experience to get to know the built heritage and cultural landscapes in order to develop and pilot tailor-made measures for a specific site. The networking of participants from the cultural sector with emergency services, blue-light organisations, NGOs and the military is proving to be of great benefit in the training of cultural heritage protection.
