Mathias Czaika is former Director of the International Migration Institute at Oxford University, UK. He holds a PhD in political economy from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and has published on topics such as international migration in the context of globalisation, development, inequality and conflict.

His specific research interests include:

  •     Decision-making in the field of migration
  •     Migration policy making and policy impacts
  •     Migration of highly skilled workers, asylum seekers and refugees
