The Global Phosphorus Institute (GPI) (https://www.tgpi.org/en/home) aims to take a leading role in an unbiased, data and evidence-based resources management for the phosphate supply-demand chain. For understanding the dynamics of the supply and the demand side, the P-DaKH will take a leading role in global sustainable mineral resources management when aiming to provide “a right to know based data hub”, which includes unbiased and transparently generated open data bank on phosphate resources and reserves data. The P-data bank is supposed to be a ground-breaking innovation (compared to common data banks of national geological surveys, mining agencies and other institutions) as it focuses the dynamics of future reserves and resources. The Transdisciplinary Laboratory Sustainable Mineral Resources (SMR Td-Lab) at UWK as part of these units will play a crucial role in initiating the ‘Global Phosphate Data and Knowledge Hub (Global P-DaKH)’. The SMR Td Lab was founded in 2016 with the core objective to contribute to an efficient use of phosphorus in agriculture and other domains, as an enabler of technology and social innovation, and to promote long term phosphorus supply security https://www.donau-uni.ac.at/en/university/faculties/business-globalization/research/lab-sustainable-mineral-resources.html).
