To the University for Continuing Education Krems it is important to convey how significant science and research are for societal purposes. Thus, it engages in innovation networks and holds various events shaped in different ways for the transfer of knowledge.

Girls’ day

Since 2001, Girls' Day has been held each year to help schoolgirls in Austria find a career for the time after they leave school. It is intended to particularly broaden the scope of career choices, also beyond traditional role models. The University for Continuing Education Krems has supported this initiative from the beginning. The Girls' Day in Lower Austria is initiated by the Women's Department of the Office of the Lower Austrian Provincial Government in cooperation with the AMS (employment market service), the Lower Austrian Education Directorate, the Federation of Austrian Industries of Lower Austria, the Volkswirtschaftliche Gesellschaft Wien and the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce.

Lange Nacht der Forschung

Die lange Nacht der Forschung (the long night of research) takes place every two years in Austria. The way science and research are experienced up close is free of charge. Die lange Nacht der Forschung opens up the opportunity of bringing research closer to people, presenting it in a lively manner and to especially target young people in making the fascination of research real.

Research Summit Series

As part of the Research Summit Series, the leading international scientists discuss current topics of high scientific relevance. The event is directed at researchers as well as interested members of the public.

Topics the Research Summit Series has already shed light on:

tecnet accent Innovation Award

The focus of this call is on the question as to how scientific findings and inventions can be utilized. Here, a jury of experts assesses not only the actual research work, but primarily the economic implementation strategy or its potential for implementation. In this context, customer benefits, market potential, target-group-oriented marketing strategy and patent protection are key aspects.

The tecnet accent Innovation Award is sponsored by the University together with tecnet equity NÖ Technologiebeteiligungs-Invest GmbH and accent Gründerservice GmbH and implemented by the support of the province of Lower Austria.
