The 48th Congress of the ESAO (European Society for Artificial Organs) will be held at Campus Krems from 6 -10 September 2022
The upcoming ESAO Winter School will take place in Lutherstadt Wittenberg (Germany) from February 15 to 18, 2023. It is organised by the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. The theme of this year's Winter School is "Artificial Organs and Tissue Engineering - From Basics to Clinical Application".
We are glad to announce that the upcoming online ESAO/TERMIS-EU Winter School will be organized by the University of Zaragoza from February 24-26, 2021. It will focus on " The Bionic Human: Biomaterials, (Bio)Artificial and Bioengineered Organs, and Cybernetics for the Future of Regenerative Medicine”. Continuing the tradition of previous Winter Schools, it will provide an overview of this field and will also include two poster sessions for young researchers.
The Department for Biomedical Research focuses on the development of systems and technologies for extracorporeal blood purification, in particular on adsorbent-based technologies for liver support or immunomodulation in sepsis.
The Center for Biomedical Technology focuses on the development of systems and technologies for extracorporeal blood purification. Blood compatible materials, cell culture models to study endothelial activation under septic conditions, the influence of anticoagulation on the blood compatibility of extracorporeal therapies, as well as the multiple roles of extracellular vesicles and their biological activity are in the center of our research.
