70 years of the Hague Convention 1954 - 60 years of ratification by Austria On May 14, 1954, the “Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict” was adopted in the Binnenhof in The Hague: 44 representatives of states signed the final text.

Historical buildings, works of art or collectibles: Europe has a rich cultural heritage. Research at the University for Continuing Education Krems concentrates on the proper preservation and appropriate use of historical buildings, the comprehensive protection of cultural assets, and the handling of museum analog and digital collections.
The Center was established at the University of Continuing Education Krems in 2023 and named after the former employee of the Department of Building and Environment, Prof. DDr. Jiří Toman (1938-2020).
