Resilience research: The Centre for Security of Supply

Security of supply is a cornerstone of modern societies and resilient economies. In a world of increasing interconnectedness, complex dependencies and growing challenges – from geopolitical changes and climate change to technological disruptions – ensuring the continuous supply of essential goods and services is becoming a key task for the future. The Centre for Security of Supply at the University for Continuing Education Krems is dedicated to this transdisciplinary task with expertise and a practical approach.

The Centre for Security of Supply pursues an interdisciplinary and systemic approach that focuses on the interactions between food, water, energy and ecosystems. The center’s research examines current and future challenges to security of supply in the agricultural, as well as the water and energy sectors in Austria and Lower Austria, but also beyond. We analyze risks, the effects of geopolitical changes, dependencies and conflicting goals and develop innovative, location-specific solutions that respect ecological limits and integrate nature conservation goals.

We promote dialogue between science, regional business, administration and civil society. We provide platforms that facilitate the exchange of ideas on sustainable supply concepts.
