Wiener Neustadt is located about 50 km south of Vienna at an important transportation hub and is easily accessible via the motorway, federal highways, and the Southern Railway line.
The Department for Integrated Sensor Systems is located in the Technology and Research Center (TFZ) at Viktor‑Kaplan‑Straße 2, Building E, in the northern part of the city within the Civitas Nova education and business district.
Arrival by Train
From Vienna

The rail connection from Vienna to Wiener Neustadt Hauptbahnhof runs conveniently along the Southern Railway line (Südbahn), one of Austria’s most important transportation corridors. Nearly all ÖBB trains operating on this route stop in Wiener Neustadt, ensuring frequent and fast connections from Vienna Central Station (Wiener Hauptbahnhof). - By Bus:
From Wiener Neustadt Hauptbahnhof, bus lines 6 and 7 operate regular services to the business district in the northern part of the city. Line 6 goes to Lise-Meitner-Straße, and line 7 to Johannes-Gutenberg-Straße. - By Rapid Transit (S60):
Another option is to take the S60 rapid transit line from Vienna Central Station via the Pottendorfer Line to the “Wiener Neustadt Civitas Nova” station. From there, it is just a short walk to the DISS located in the TFZ.
Arrival by Car
From Vienna
The Technology and Research Center Wiener Neustadt (TFZ) can be conveniently reached from Vienna via the A2 Southern Motorway. Take the Wöllersdorf / Wiener Neustadt Nord exit and then follow the signs towards Wiener Neustadt‑Nord. Several roundabouts will lead you further onto Nikolaus‑August‑Otto-Straße and then into Johannes‑Gutenberg-Straße, from where the TFZ is already clearly visible.
From Vienna International Airport (Schwechat)
The drive from the airport to the TFZ takes approximately 55 minutes. The route leads via the A4 and then through the Schwechat interchange onto the S1, continuing to the Vösendorf interchange and from there onto the A2 Southern Motorway in the direction of Graz. Continue to the Wöllersdorf / Wiener Neustadt Nord exit (see directions above).
Parking at the TFZ
Ample visitor parking is available directly in front of all buildings at the Technology and Research Center Wiener Neustadt. Behind Building C, there is an additional large gravel parking lot should the visitor parking spaces be full.
