University for Continuing Education Krems, Centre for Environmental Sensitivity

The University for Continuing Education Krems specialises in the higher qualification of professionals. The research focus at the University of Continuing Education Krems is on current and future social challenges. In the spirit of transdisciplinarity, it builds bridges between basic research and applied research, between individual disciplines and, in particular, bridges to societal stakeholders.

At the Center for Environmental Sensitivity, teaching and research at the interfaces between the fields of civil engineering, natural sciences and social sciences are promoted in an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary manner with the aim of creating and sharing knowledge for establishing sustainable architecture and living environments. Research on human-environment-building interactions and relating knowledge established in the construction sector to social scientific knowledge is one of the strengths of the Center for Environmental Sensitivity.

Bertha von Suttner Privatuniversität St. Pölten

Mit ihrem aktiven Engagement für Frieden, Dialog und Inklusion ist die visionäre Aktivistin und Denkerin Bertha von Suttner Namenspatin und Inspirationsfigur für die Universität. Zu einem Zeitpunkt, als Frauen noch nicht studieren durften, engagierte sie sich für Gleichberechtigung, forderte das Wahlrecht für Frauen und bekämpfte festgefahrene Rollenbilder. Mit ihren Schwerpunkten Psychotherapie, Soziale Arbeit, Inklusionspädagogik und Psychologie stellt die Bertha von Suttner Privatuniversität den „Menschen in den Mittelpunkt“. Sie versteht sich als Entwicklungsraum für die Gesellschaft von morgen. In ihrem Handeln und Forschen adressiert die BSU gegenwärtige Problemstellungen sowie die Entwicklung einer an der Würde aller Menschen orientierten Gesellschaft, auch für nachfolgende Generationen. Die Universität begreift Forschung als Grundlage für die produktive Auseinandersetzung mit aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen, aus der Beiträge zur Förderung von psychischer Gesundheit, Wohlbefinden und Gemeinwohl hervorgehen. Innovative, inter- und transdisziplinäre Ansätze sowie ein aktiver Austausch mit der Bevölkerung, mit gesellschaftlichen AkteurInnen und Studierenden sind dabei richtungsgebend.

Für die BSU arbeiten am Projekt SPUR die Professuren Soziales Unternehmertum und innovative Regionen sowie Inklusive Pädagogik und Inklusionsmanagement mit. Sie bringen aus ihrer Forschung und Lehre Expertise zur Entwicklung und Funktion gemeinschaftlicher Wohnprojekte, der spezifischen Situation in Ostösterreich, Kontakte zu Akteur:innen der Regionalentwicklung, zu Dienstleistungsorganisationen für Menschen mit psychischen Krankheitserfahrungen und Selbstvertreter:innen sowie Knowhow für die Umsetzung gemeinschaftlicher inklusiver Vorhaben ins Projekt SPUR ein.

St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences

St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences offers higher education with a practical and international orientation in the following subject areas: Media, digital technologies, communication, management, computer science, security, railway technology, health and social affairs. The St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences also conducts applied research in these fields.

The Ilse Arlt Institute for Social Inclusion Research conducts professional and thus application-related research, methodological and theoretical development in the field of social work. The focus area "Participation, Diversity and Democratic Development" initiates and supports participatory research projects, various methods for strengthening social participation, diversity, the voice of social work users and the development of self-representation and self-organisation.

The professorships “Social Entrepreneurship and Innovative Regions” as well as “Inclusive Education and Inclusion Management” are foundational to the SPUR project. From their research and teaching, they contribute with expertise on the development and function of community housing projects, the specific situation in Eastern Austria, contacts to regional development actors, service organisations for people with mental health issues and self-advocates, as well as know-how for the implementation of inclusive community projects.
