Stroke-unit care is associated with a lower risk of mortality and disability. In high-income countries stroke units have become established as the central component of modern stroke services.
Stroke-units should become accessible for stroke patients in low-income and middle-income countries.
As a supporting action for the setup of a stroke unit in low/middle income countries a list of learning objectives for stroke physicians was developed. A two-round Delphi process was performed among nine international senior stroke experts and 18 ESO Master Students of Stroke Medicine. The results will be presented in 2016.
