The Department of Evidence-Based Medicine and Evaluation became a WHO Collaborating Centre for Evidence-based Medicine in 2017.

Within the framework of this collaboration, we conduct trainings of WHO staff. The focus here is on teaching methodological skills in guideline development. In addition, we hold regular web-based meetings with WHO staff to answer questions that arise during guideline development. Another task involves the preparation of German-language summaries of English-language WHO guidelines. Each year, we publish two German-language summaries in the journal "Das Gesundheitswesen".
The WHO also regularly commissions our department to prepare systematic reviews and rapid reviews, which subsequently serve as the basis for WHO guidelines.
