POLICY DEBATE WITH THE ACADEMIC WORLD JEAN MONNET PROJECTS - POLICY DEBATE WITH THE ACADEMIC WORLD

Beschreibung

EU-MARPL proposal is a “cross-fertilisation” project that promotes the discussion and reflection of the best EU practices of recognition of prior learning (RPL) with the focus on migrants’ adaptation. The project is highly relevant for the present days' situation in Russia: the numbers of migrants have increased remarkably for the last few years. It is also very much important for EU which is flooded with refugees. The statistics shows that a lot of labour migrants had prior learning (official/informal/non-formal). But what is lacking at the moment is the mechanism of its recognition by HEIs. The project will help to enhance knowledge about the EU RPL models and to disseminate their experience in Russia at the level of higher education and for civil society at large. This is a complex project which covers to some extent the issues of the EU cross-cultural relations, law, policy, economics and history, along with the issues of EU teaching and learning approaches. EU-MARPL initiative is a logical continuation and offshoot of the project “Validation of non-formal/informal learning in Russian Higher Education”/ VALERU (544405-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-AT-TEMPUS-SMHES), coordinated by Danube University of Krems, Austria (DUK). VALERU addresses the validating of non-formal/informal learning (NIL), with a focus on learning outcomes from work based learning. EU-MARPL proposal is based on a strong cooperation between DUK (P2) and Russian and EU HEIs, including the Russian State University of Humanities, RSUH (P3) and experts. It is strongly supported be INTEROBRAZOVANIE (P1 – applicant)
