tecnet | accent Innovation Award 2021

For this year's tecnet | accent Innovation Award of the University for Continuing Education Krems we are looking for innovative inventions and research results that have the potential for further economic development. Interested parties are cordially invited to submit their projects in the form of a poster for this award.

Academic staff of the University for Continuing Education Krems, the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems and the Karl Landsteiner University for Health Sciences, as well as their students and graduates are invited to participate.

Submissions end on 1 October 2021.

Both basic and applied research projects can be submitted. We are looking for ideas and solutions that address socially relevant topics, such as health, education, mobility or digitalization, and have the initiative power society can benefit from.

In a coaching workshop, the submitters receive information about the steps and challenges up to the commercial implementation of research results and are prepared to present their projects in front of the expert jury. The coaching workshop will also be held in English if required.

Attending one of these two workshops prior to submission is recommended.

Described on a poster (format A0), we expect the presentation of the research work as well as initial thoughts on its potential economic and social utilization based on the following criteria/questions:

1. "What are the results, what are the benefits of my results, who could benefit from them?" (Brief description of the research project or the invention).
2. "What could a potential product/service look like?" (product or service idea)
3. "For which problem, which issue does my product or service represent a solution?" (benefit)
4. "What further development steps are necessary to make the economic/social implementation possible?" (implementation)
5. "If your idea could contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), present this."

Submission ends on 1 October 2021.

The submitted posters will be presented by the submitters in a 10-minute presentation to an expert jury consisting of one representative each from the University for Continuing Education Krems, the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, the Karl Landsteiner University for Health Sciences as well as tecnet equity NÖ Technologiebeteiligungs-Invest GmbH and accent Inkubator GmbH. The poster and the presentation form the basis for the evaluation.

A printed poster (A0) is required for the presentation to the jury. Entrants are requested to print out this poster themselves and bring it to the presentation.

Submission and presentation of the poster to the jury do not count as publication!

The award ceremony will take place at the University for Continuing Education Krems in November 2021 in the presence of Mag. Jochen Danninger, Provincial Councilor for Economy, Tourism and Sport. (The exact date will be announced later)

The prizes are donated by tecnet equity NÖ Technologiebeteiligungs-Invest GmbH and accent Inkubator GmbH. The prize is freely disposable. In the case of team submissions, the prize will be divided among the team members.
