In the framework of the SOS Heritage project, the Centre for the Protection of Cultural Property organized an one-week on-site course on Risk Management of Cultural Heritage at the University of Continuing Education Krems from March 20th – 24th 2023. International cultural experts from Austria, Italy, Romania and Serbia took part in the training programme led by Ass. Prof. Dr. Anna Kaiser.
The aim of the course was to provide tomorrow's cultural heritage professionals with basic information on the skills they need to manage risks to tangible cultural heritage caused by natural or man-made disasters.
Through theoretical inputs from experts and a hands-on section, in which the participants got the possibility to delve deeper into the topics, the course addressed the cross-cutting issue of cultural heritage protection and in particular risk management for tangible cultural heritage with a comprehensive approach.
In addition to the exciting course content, participants were able to experience cultural heritage during a guided tour of Stein. Walking through the narrow, romantic streets of the old town, they immersed themselves in the past and visited numerous of the town's sights.
Michele Magini (course participant and representative of the lead partner Mazzini Lab) captured some impressions and opinions of the course week in his video.
