On the occasion of the Austrian National Day 2022, the renowned Austrian film director and Oscar winner Stefan Ruzowitzky created short films on the core themes of the Armed Forces exhibition as well as film portraits of soldiers of the Austrian Armed Forces:
Assistant Prof. Dr. Anna Kaiser has been working at the Center for Cultural Property Protection since 2015. She holds a PhD in ancient history with a thesis on the Roman military. She is also a militia soldier in the Austrian Armed Forces.
Due to her military training, she has specialised in the protection of cultural property, with a particular focus on the creation of interfaces between civilian actors and various armed forces, especially the military.
The short film episode 'Strukturierte Miliz' (Structured Militia) provides an insight into the tasks of the Austrian Militia, which ensures the protection and preservation of critical infrastructure in the event of natural disasters, epidemics, terrorist attacks or armed conflicts, thereby also contributing to the preservation of our cultural treasures.
