Research projects at the Center for Applied Music Research focus on the following competence areas creating the foundations for teaching:
The Professional Musician - Musical professional field research, the profession „musician", economic conditions and structures across music markets, and music life.
Cultural Heritage Music: Reworking musical cultural heritage is an important objective including the editing of the
Collection Mailer / Strauss Archive, addressing music management history focusing on the music of the Strauss family,
Monastic Music collections and music archives from Lower Austrian monasteries;
Haydn research in Lower Austria as part of the "Haydnregion Niederösterreich" as well as
research projects on contemporary music, including work in conjunction with the Ernst Krenek Institute.
