Center for Applied Music Research

Department for Arts and Cultural Studies

The Center for Applied Music Research of the Danube University Krems deals with all forms of contemporary music creation in teaching and research. It sees itself as a competence centre for music in the field of tension between individual - society - economy on the one hand and aesthetics on the other hand. The focus is on questions and challenges with which music and the music industry are confronted by digitalisation and globalisation: the changes in production, distribution and reception of music triggered by these processes as well as the changes in the entire professional field.

Head: Mag. Dr. phil. Eva Maria Stöckler
