HANDBOOK ON GOOD PRACTICES FOR DIGITALISATION AND PROMOTION OF CULTURAL HERTIAGE

The 'Handbook on good practices for digitalisation and promotion of cultural heritage' is a collection of campaigns and innovative implementations of digital communication and outreach activities by various cultural institutions that have been identified as good or even best examples of digital content creation and communication approaches.

In addition to this inventory, challenges and sources of inspiration are highlighted, which will be implemented in the partner's own digitisation initiatives, the pilot projects, as the project progresses.

The focus of this secondary research is not to produce general findings, but rather to bring together digitisation projects from the partner organisations' respective regions and subject areas that can serve as good examples and inspiration for various future projects and initiatives. It is also a valuable source of information for those wishing to learn more about the digitisation of cultural heritage, particularly in Europe.

ON-SITE-COURSE RISK MANAGEMENT OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

As part of SOS Heritage, the Center for Cultural Property Protection organised a one-week on-site-course on risk management for cultural heritage at the University for Continuing Education Krems. International cultural professionals from Austria, Italy, Romania and Serbia took part in the training.

The aim of the course was to provide tomorrow's cultural heritage professionals with basic information on the necessary management of risks to material cultural heritage caused by natural or man-made disasters.

SOS HERITAGE WEB APP

The SOS Heritage Web App is being developed to support cultural heritage risk assessments with a digital tool. The main objective of the application is to provide a tool to put the theoretical concepts of cultural heritage risk management into practice.

In the business world, specific tools exist for risk assessment of artworks, usually aimed at insurance professionals responsible for underwriting insurance policies for art collectors. The SOS Heritage Web App, on the other hand, is specifically tailored to the needs of staff and managers of cultural heritage institutions who would otherwise have to create and manage their own systems.

The development and testing of the Web App paves the ground for the creation of an innovative tool for professionals to manage their risk assessment procedures and create risk management plans in an immediate and digital way.
