ORCID
ORCID is already used by over 280 researchers at the University for Continuing Education Krems. The university library offers information and support regarding the identifier. We assist you in creating your personal profile, provide tips on how to easily import and manage your publications, and advise you on merging multiple profiles. We link your ORCID to your publications in DOOR and during DOI generation.
What is an ORCID and what is it used for?
- Unique, individual identifier for researchers
- Allows multiple spellings of your name
- Voluntary, open profile for your publications, education, etc.
- Often required by funding agencies and a prerequisite for submissions
- Stored in publications and thus refers to further publications
- Established standard
- Institution-independent
- User-friendly
- Practical for creating additional profile accounts (PubMed, ResearchGate, GND, Scopus, etc.)
In addition, the University Library manages the institutional ORCID of the University for Continuing Education Krems. The linking of individual ORCIDs to the institutional ORCID will begin in fall 2025 and will be continued on an ongoing basis. This project allows for improved monitoring of your publication activities and forms the basis for follow-up projects related to ORCID.
