The project addresses the existing discrepancies between the need for digital literacies and competencies for participation in the labour market and in society in general on the one hand and the availability and suitability of courses and trainings in adult further education on the other. Vulnerable people face this challenge stronger than others and need support and integrative approaches. We argue that CGC plays and key role in this context, but we identify a lack of theory, practice, and methodology to fill this gap. Academic training programs can fill this gap based on the results of the envisaged project. Therefore, the project will develop, test, and implement innovative methods to interconnect, coordinate and coproduce individual training needs, labour market demand and further education programmes (CGC roundabouts), actively involving workers, employers, and providers of training in a dynamic process. To develop this method, we build upon results and resources from other projects (e.g., Connect!) and inspiration by scholars in the academic CGC field. These methods will be applied in a way that improves labour market access and job security, provides much needed digital competencies for an economy in transformation and empowers workers by providing skill sets to strengthen their position within economic organisations, ultimately increasing their opportunities for participation both in the workplace and society at large. The final product of the project will be a higher-education curriculum for current and future CGC professionals, which will serve to provide them the necessary knowledges, skills and competences to play a pivotal role in setting up and managing CGC roundabouts for digital transformation in an inclusive, co-productive and efficient way.
