Austria's first German language MBA program started at Danube University Krems in 1991. The Danube Business School's foundation stone was thereby laid.
Since then, several thousand managers have laid the foundation stone for their future career with an MBA degree at Danube Business School.
Today, Danube Business School offers the following three study formats for continuing education in management. These are tailored to the requirements of practice and the individual goals and needs of the students.
The MBA programs sharpen the students' strategic management and leadership skills and simulta-neously teach broad, state-of-the-art management knowledge.
MSc programs deepen operational management skills and provide application-oriented management tools in a special field or in an industry.
In brief, compact units, short programs provide management skills and management tools in func-tional areas or sectors in the form of academic programs, certified programs, corporate programs, and seminars.
MBA - Master of Business Administration
The "Master of Business Administration" programs sharpen students' strategic management and leadership skills. On the one hand, they teach broad, general, cross-functional state-of-the-art management knowledge and on the other — depending on the choice of MBA program — deepen technical skills in functional or industry-specific specializations, or leadership skills at the overall business level.
MBA Programs' Formats
Danube postgraduate MBA studies offer the right MBA program for both experienced managers at all career levels and for young academics.
The "Executive MBA" is a state-of-the-art general management program for managers. It links theory and practice in a unique form and teaches selected management instruments, leadership competence, and valuable personal skills. The program's time structure allows professional activity to be combined with study.
The "Professional MBA" is oriented toward managers in or on the way to leadership positions who would like to complete a general management education with subject-specific specializations. The course of studies is characterized by its modular structure and the possibility for flexible program design.
The one-year MBA program "Master in Business Administration" has been designed for university graduates holding a degree min. 240 ECTS worth (or 4 years full-time study) who want to enhance their employment and career prospects. In its full-time version it takes you only 1 year to your MBA degree.
MSc - Master of Science
The Danube Business School's Master of Science (MSc) programs are oriented toward part-time continuing education in a particular management function or in a particular industry. They specialize the students' technical or industry-specific operational management skills and simultaneously sharpen their social and leadership skills as well. In a subject-specific master’s thesis, theoretical knowledge is specialized and applied to the solution of a practical problem from one's own operation.
In some MSc courses, it's possible to add a two-semester "MBA upgrade." Here students acquire further in-depth technical or industry-specific management knowledge in addition to general management knowledge and, after writing of another master thesis, are entitled to bear the title "Master of Business Administration."
If you'd like to develop your knowledge and skills in one of our specialized study and competence areas and part-time study is too time-consuming for you, why not complete one of Danube Business School's short programs. Benefit here from practice-oriented expert knowledge and our speakers' and students' networks.
Academic Programs (AP) and Certified Programs (CP) are separate university courses. In short, compact, units they teach management skills and management tools in functional areas of businesses or industries that you can apply immediately in your organization. Depending on the short program selected, they comprise several modules (each between 3 and 6 days) and can also be credited toward future university MBA and MSc courses of study. You graduate with an academic certificate from Danube University Krems.
Together with corporations, Danube Business School has developed short programs for specific ongoing needs that take desired continuing education content and associated skills into account. You only need to register for your specific staff education needs and we will support you as educational experts.

Flexible Teaching Formats for Individual Requirements
