Seit vielen Jahren nennen Österreicherinnen und Österreicher „Migration“ und „Integration“ in Befragungen als zentrale Themen, die ihnen Sorgen bereiten.

Wie berichten Medien in Österreich über diese Themen? Wie häufig werden Integrationsthemen von Medien aufgegriffen, welche Begriffe werden verwendet und werden sie tendenziell positiv oder negativ wahrgenommen? In einer netPOL-Studie wurde die Wahrnehmung von Migration und Integration in den österreichischen Medien sowie in Social Media-Plattformen in einer Frequenz- und Sentimentanalyse untersucht.

The Big Easy?

The New Orleans module brings students to one of the United States‘ oldest and most unique cities. An urban laboratory steeped in history, New Orleans illuminates the diversity to be found within the United States. Students will explore its rich history, current challenges, and future outlook with local experts, and learn about the political significance of the Deep South in the light of the upcoming Presidential elections.

Politics of Power

The Washington DC module brings students to the nation’s capital and political epicenter at a most critical time. Hosted by the Austrian Embassy in the United States, we will explore the political dynamics of the Presidential elections and await their outcome live on November 5. The Presidential campaign and current political dynamics will be analyzed with noted experts from local universities and think tanks.
