The PhD program "Technology, Innovation, and Cohesive Societies” targets the next generation of scientists who want to continue their studies in a research-oriented manner at the interface of social and economic sciences and computer science. In addition, they also have a high interest in inter/transdisciplinary research, want to prepare for a career in international academia, and are eager to engage and interact with society.
Admission to the PhD program follows a two-stage process:
> Announcement of a third-party funded PhD position (job advertisement)
> Selection procedure by the PhD Commission
PhD students are generally employed for three years by the University for Continuing Education Krems provided availability of sufficient third-party funding acquired from national or international funding bodies (e.g. GFF, FWF, Horizon Europe). The PhD Commission selects students on the basis of the quality of the application documents and a high-quality PhD research proposal.
